Past Projects
The North Island Connector Project
Effective January 2011, The North Island Connector Project has shifted focus towards training and development for Homeshare Providers, organizations and networks. Jay is partnering with Alan Craig from Vancouver Island Community Support Services to deliver a full day session specifically for Homeshare allies. Jay is also providing a series of full day Building Bridges training sessions in the Central / North Island region.
These sessions aim to equip and motivate stakeholders to further explore communities potential for opportunity and relationship. Community connection and engagement requires momentum based in dignity, equity, communication, opportunity, participation and utilizing Natural Supporters within our communities. These training sessions hope to provide participants a refreshing outlook towards community inclusion and the work that is underway to create communities that welcome and include citizens of all abilities.

The project was an opportunity, for Jay, to work closely with individuals, family members, and staff with Spectrum in very intentional ways. The PSN team of Susan, Joanne, Mishel, Aaron and Jay presented the project at the 2008 BCACL "Tools for Change" conference in Langley British Columbia.
